STAR 1 - 3 Group

offers skaters who have achieved CanSkate stage 6 and advanced into the Skate Canada STARSkate program the opportunity to continue learning in a group environment. This is a fully coached program where each session includes 60 minutes on ice and 30 minutes off ice working on flexibility and jump technique. We encourage all skaters in this program to also begin working additional ice time into their schedule for self-practice and hiring a Club coach for private or semi-private lessons.

All of our group programming follows a three-station format, designed to create an engaging environment for skill development. In our STAR 1-3 program, lessons focus on spins, jumps, edges or turns, dance steps, and synchro elements.

We are currently offering a hybrid group program for skaters working on CanSkate stages 4 - 6 (Pre-Star) or StarSkate levels 1-3. Each session includes a 10-minute off-ice group warm-up, three 15-minute lessons, group activities, and a 30-minute dryland training session with a cool-down period. We encourage anyone who is interested in skating, to work through the crucial early stages of skill development in a group environment where we emphasize quality basics, barrier-free advancement, and early introduction of complex elements. We aim to foster skill acquisition through team-building activities and progression at-your-own pace, while ensuring a smooth transition from CanSkate to figure skating.

Looking for a second day of skating? Star 1-3 Group skaters who are interested in a second day of skating during Spring 2024 should consider the "Star/PP (priority 1-3)" session on Thursdays from 4:00-5:00pm for semi-private or private lessons.
