VOLUNTEERS NEEDED NEW YEAR'S EVE 4:30-8:30PM

The Town of Canmore is hosting several events to bring in the New Year. One of these events is a free public skate.
- Date: December 31st, 2024
- Location: Canmore Recreation Centre
- Activities: This family-friendly event will include a DJ dance party, photobooths, skating, live music, food, outdoor firepits and marshmallow roasting, and a pyrotechnics show at 8pm. Last year we saw over 3000+ attendees throughout the evening.
- Event Time: 5pm – 8pm
- Volunteer Shift: Rink Monitors (18+ preferred) on the Alex Kaleta Arena or Thelma Crowe Arena from 4:30pm – 8:30pm (4 hour shift)
- Responsibilities: Ensuring people are wearing skates on the ice and those ages 12 and under have a helmet on. Monitoring to make sure people are being safe, providing helpful information about what else is going on and wayfinding, etc.
Organizers have stated they will be able to provide an honourarium to the Canmore Skating Club, with the amount depending on how many volunteers can support. This could be a great opportunity for parents who will already be attending the event, and want to help support your organization.
