Holiday Camp 2025 - December 27, 28 and 29, 2025

 

Welcome back Kaetlyn Osmond, Marta Pietrasik, and Monika Langer, plus Lunch and Learn speakers with the option for private and semi-private lessons with our Canmore Skating Club Coaches.

 

Renew friendships and make new ones over 3 days in beautiful Canmore, Alberta.

Saturday, December 27 thru Monday, December 29, 2025

 

Daily Programming includes:

  • Two Freeskate sessions
  • One 15-minute semi-private lesson with Kaetlyn Osmond 
  • One 60 minute edge session with Marta Pietrasik
  • One off-ice ballet class with Monika Langer
  • One off-ice learning session with a different facilitator or instructor each day. (Scroll down for details.)

 

Canmore Skating Club Coaches:

Camp prices DO NOT include lessons from these coaches. If you wish lessons from our club coaches, please indicate this at time of registration, (or you may bring your own coach). Please do right by our coaches and pay for these lessons before leaving on your last day of camp.

Things to bring:

 

Water bottle (you cannot buy bottled water at the Rec Centre, water bottle fill stations only), lunch and snacks, ballet slippers if you have them or removable socks.

Rec Centre concession will NOT be open during camp.

Saturday: Maximizing Your Program Component Scores

Sunday: Caring for Your Skates

Monday: Put Meaning into Your Moves

In this session, come to learn what each Program Component is about, the specific criteria that is assessed, and how to maximize your Program Component scores - including how elements, their quality and musicality make a difference.

Facilitator:  Leslie Keen, ISU Judge (Singles, Pairs, Dance) and musician

Monique Wasmann is a lifelong figure skater, a national champion, and a National Level 3 certified coach in good standing Skate Canada. She has been coaching for more than 20 years and has led multiple synchronized skating teams to compete at the national level as well as competitive ice dance teams and singles. Monique is committed to fostering a love of the sport for new figure skaters and providing the tools and training that developing figure skaters need to reach the highest levels of their potential.

Monique is co-owner of The Skate Lab.

 

This session is about performing your program, connecting your movements, telling a story through your skating. Starting with discussion-based activities and then we'll get on our feet and do an interactive activity.

Facilitator: Liberty Laferriere is a skater, musical theatre graduate, singer/dancer/actor.  Performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022.
