Leslie Dueck
Leslie brings over 12 years of coaching expertise, specializing in diverse age groups from 2-year-olds to seniors in programs such as CanSkate, StarSkate, and Podium Pathway. She is trained as a Star 1-5 Assessor and holds NCCP Regional Certification. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes inclusivity, a skate-for-life mentality and strategic planning to support skaters in achieving their goals.
With a background in the fitness industry since 2015, Leslie integrates fitness principles into her coaching approach. She provides skaters with personalized training booklets featuring SMART goals, drills, schedules, and home workout programs designed to enhance skating-specific strength, balance, agility, and flexibility. Leslie is dedicated to ensuring technical proficiency and proper posture in both skating and personal training, empowering skaters through personalized goal-setting, from yearly plans to daily routines.
Leslie’s own skating journey has taken her across Alberta and Saskatchewan, initially aiming for national competition in Calgary before an injury redirected her focus. This personal experience amplifies her dedication to helping her students build strong physical foundations and develop comprehensive protection strategies.
Through her coaching and mentorship, Leslie aims to shape the next generation of skaters, empowering them to excel both on and off the ice and preparing them to become the next wave of competitive athletes and/or coaches.
