Susan Massitti

Pilates and Performance Conditioning

Susan is a sport physiotherapist, a movement educator (Pilates and Performance Conditioning), a lifelong “student of movement”, an Olympic athlete (1998 Nagano Winter Olympics in long track speed skating) and has been privileged to support many athletes at multiple Olympic Games and international and World Championships.

It has been her privilege to learn from the amazing athletes, coaches and clients who have sought her help.  She facilitates Pilates and performance conditioning sessions for Olympic and recreational athletes and focuses on how the mind body connection influences our nervous system.

Her ties to figure skating are strong. A Gold level figure skater herself, she has been Chief Therapist for World and National figure skating events and a member of the support team for Skate Canada athletes on international assignments.

Susan has a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Alberta and a Master of Manipulative Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Clinically, Susan works in Canmore  at Susan Massitti Physio Pilates and in Calgary at Evidence Sport and Spinal North. She is an instructor with UBC Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation program.

Susan obtained her Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Division, a Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy from Sports Physiotherapy Canada, and a Certificate of Medical Acupuncture from the University of Alberta. She is a Registered International Sport Physiotherapist, Senior Sport Scientist Canada, and a Classical Pilates Teacher.

We make this acknowledgement in the spirit of respect, reconciliation and gratitude to the people of Treaty 7 - the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Chiniki, Bearspaw, Wesley), and the Métis Nation (Region 3) - on whose territory we are so fortunate to live, work, learn and play.
