SUMMER 2020

Return to Training

The Canmore Skating Club has secured ice time at the Edge School for Athletes (in vicinity of Calaway Park/Springbank), July 6 through August 13, 2020. Generally programming will be Monday thru Thursday from 4:30 – 7:15pm (slight variations some weeks) and includes off-ice and on-ice sessions. As of July 11, 15 skaters permitted on the ice.

Anyone wishing to skate with us during Phase 2 of Alberta’s COVID-19 Re-launch Strategy must have attended (virtually) or viewed the recording of the Parent / Adult Skater Information Meeting.

A typical day will start with a coach-led, 30-minute off-ice session outside on the Turf field, (15 minutes to put on skates and move to the arena), followed by a 60-minute session, flood break, and 45 minute session. The off-ice portion will be split into two groups based on the needs of that day's cohort. There will be no group instruction during this phase of the re-launch so please contact your coach if you wish instruction. Non-club coaches interested in coaching on these sessions, please contact the Club at canmoreskatingclub@gmail.com.

Your health

The COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnnaire (wording updated July 8) must be done DAILY. You will NOT be allowed to participate in the day's training if you answer "yes" to any of the questions on the questionnaire. Please stay at home if you are unwell and complete the Alberta Health Services COVID-19 Self Assessment Tool.

It is also extremely important to email the Club (canmoreskatingclub@gmail.com) if you or someone you have been in close contact with tests positive for COVID-19 or is suspected of being COVID-19 positive.

Missing a Session?

If at any time during the summer you need to miss a session which you have registered for, contact your coach AND email canmoreskatingclub@gmail.com using the Subject Line: TRAINING SCHEDULE CHANGE. Please provide a brief explanation and the session(s) you will be missing.
